Steven Cadranel is a lifelong resident of Atlanta and a graduate of the University of Georgia. For most of his career, Steven developed retail and mixed-use projects from Dallas, Texas to Portland, Maine as a partner with New Market Development and then as President of Ben Carter Properties. Several of the more noteworthy projects he helped create include the Mall of Georgia, Columbus Park, a 400 acre retail, multi-family, and mixed use master planned development in Columbus, GA, St. Johns Town Center, a 1.8 million s.f. open air retail center in Jacksonville, Florida, and the initial visioning and development for what is now Buckhead Village. In 2012 Steven transformed Ben Carter Properties into his own company now known as Arris Realty Partners. Some of his more recent undertakings include the development of The Cliftwood, a 250-unit luxury multi-family community and the adjacent Plaza retail and restaurant center in Sandy Springs.  Steven also serves as an advisor and investor in a number of ongoing multi-family and built-for-rent developments in Georgia and the Carolinas.

Steven is a longstanding lay leader in a number of community organizations.  In addition to serving as Board Chair of the Kennesaw State University Foundation (KSUF), he also serves as Chair of the Atlanta Jewish Foundation (AJF) and sits on the board of the Town Center Community Improvement District (TCCID).  Steven is a past president, current board member, and a 2023 Capital Campaign Cabinet member and Improvements Planning Committee member of the Marcus Jewish Community of Atlanta (MJCCA), a past Annual Campaign Chair and current board member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA), and a lifetime member of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.  Steven also served on the local board of Jewish Family and Career Services and on the national Board of the Jewish Community Centers of North America and helps support and serves as a resource for Hillel’s of Georgia and several other community organizations.  He is a proud recipient of several leadership awards including the MJCCA’s Irwin Zaban Bridge Builder Award, and KSUF’s Claris C. Bagwell award for Distinguished Service and their and Erwin Zaban Entrepreneurial Spirt Award and was the 2019 MJCCA Harry Maziar BB&T Golf Classic honoree.  Cadranel helped initiate and lead a 2022 JFGA Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund that grew to approximately $3,000,000 and was part of a national Jewish delegation to Warsaw and Poland’s border with Ukraine to witness the unfolding humanitarian crisis and delivery aid to refugees of the war.

 

Steven and his wife Janet were married in 1985 and were blessed with a son Adam, daughter Lauren and child pet Sadie and Grand Pet Roxley. Sadly, Adam lost their battle to cancer in 2021, but the family continues their legacy through the Adam Scott Cadranel Fund for Social, Gender, and Racial Equity. When not working or volunteering, the Cadranel’s enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and relaxing at their Reynolds Lake home.
